• Essay 1: (1-page minimum, typed, single-spaced)

Please interview your Union family member about their workplace experiences and challenges as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, elaborating on their thoughts of being classified as frontline workers.

​

• Essay 2: (1-page minimum, typed, single spaced)

​

As a child of a Union member or as a Union member, how will you use your education and leadership skills to address the challenges raised in essay 1, specifically  the inequalities seen in communities of   color regarding Covid-19?

​

• Essay 3: (1-page minimum, typed, single spaced)

Reflecting on the past two years of the pandemic, how were you, SEIU-USWW member, impacted by the Covid-19 crises and how did that affect your educational circumstances? -- e.g., Job loss, elimination of financial help for school, upheaval and stress at home, etc?

• Your Official/Unofficial Transcript and/or High School Diploma/GED Certificate.

​

• 1 Letter of Recommendation from a Teacher/Instructor, Coach, Counselor, Supervisor or Community Leader that addresses the leadership traits of the candidate (Letters must not be more than 1-year old).

• Proof of acceptance or matriculation at a qualifying educational institution for the 2021-2022 school year. 

​

• Your Student Aid Report (From FAFSA or Ca Dream Act).

​

• Your resume.
