Community College Helps Pave the Way

Kimmia Sampson is an airport worker in Los Angeles. She is an LAX BSP program participant, and also a 2023 Mike Garcia Scholarship recipient. Kimmia is a student at Long Beach City College, majoring in culinary arts.

She says: “I'm very excited. This is my first time going to college, and it will be a great thing for me. The Mike Garcia Scholarship will help me achieve my goals for a professional baking career and in furthering my education. Thank you so much, BSP and I won't let anything or anyone stop me!”
